REVIEW NOTES

Central Station

From the listing on MyGayWeb:
Happy Hour every day of the week 3-9p.m.  Friday Night Drag Show Starts at 11p.m.  $3 cover.  Saturday Night Most popular night $5 cover.  Three Bars Country/Dance/Quite Bar.  Two levels.  Must be 21 to enter.  Must have I.D. on you in the bar!!

From the listing on VirtualTourist:
This very hidden gay club is in the boarded up remains of a train station.  Once you go inside around back you'll enter the odd world of Louisiana queerness.  Half of the place is dedicated to country music (imagine big black men in hip-hop gear line dancing), while the other side is...well, more cosmopolitan.  Everybody’s friendly, and you’ll have a great time for only $5!

Cowpokes

According to the Cowpokes website, Church of Christ the Liberator holds Sunday morning mass at Cowpokes, and there are charity raffles on Sunday nights.  Monday is “Card Night” with lounge music.  Dance lessons are held on Tuesdays, taught by Gary with DJ Mike.  Wednesday is karaoke (probably not just country karaoke).  Thursday is “Women’s Night” with DJ Chris T.  Fridays feature a $9 steak dinner and beer/sode bust, with the second Friday of the month being “Boots & Boxers” night (“Come dance your pants off!”).  A drama workshop is held at the bar on Saturday afternoons.

Cowpokes is located in the Marigny neighborhood, just otside the French Quarter.  The best nights are reportedly Tuesday and Saturday.  Free parking.
