Mr. International Rubber 2001 (November 10-13, 2000)

Friday Night (before the Welcome Party)

     Hey.

For whatever reason — probably because you already know I’m here — I’m including you on my e-mail updates list for the Mr. International Rubber 2001 contest.  You may have been on last year’s list of mailees, in which case you know what to expect.  Please feel free to forward these messages (there will be four or five more over the weekend) to other interested parties.

I’ve only got time now for a quick-quick bit before heading to the Friday night Welcome Cocktail Party.  Time to put on the chaps and shirt from Nasty Pig, the blue latex g-string from House of Whacks, and the rubber NYC police coat (to cover my otherwise bare bum, something that isn’t legal on the streets).

I had dinner with Dave Rhodes, Thomas Smith, and Thomas’ other half, Joshua.  (Dave and Thomas are judges this year: schmooze, schmooze.)  We talked mostly about the election, of course.

I ran into Bodo at the Cell Block, someone who I was e-introduced to by Bill Houghton from Vancouver.

Tom Brough is in town, and he says that Vulcan America is back, sort of, as a web site (http://www.vulcan-america.com), but finances are way low.

I’m told there may be contestants from Philadelphia, Florida, and Georgia, as well as unknown others.

More details maybe later tonight, maybe after brunch in the morning.

     Wish me luck!
