Brunch was at Buddies, a nice Western-themed restaurant and bar. The Italian omelette (prosciutto, chevre cheese, mushrooms, and marinara) was fabulous. The place has one of the weirdest web addresses Ive seen, though: www.buddiesgaygrubpub.com.

I got there at about 11:15. The missing fourth contestant from the night before, Ron McFerrin, was just finishing his brunch, as was Tim Brough, one of the judges and the publisher of Vulcan America magazine (which, while defunct for a while, is now back as a web-only magazine). As I was eating, two more of the judges arrived: Thomas Smith and Rich Villagracia (Mr. Vulcan Rubber 1997). Just about the time I finished, Bruce Chambers arrived.
I offered to give Tim a ride back to the hotel (since he was staying there, too; network, schmooze, get to know the judges, cant hurt <grin>), and we met Tom Kelley just as he was getting to the restaurant.
At the hotel, Tim showed me the interiors for Vulcan America #6 (which was at the printers at the time) and parts of #7, which was to include this years contest and a comics section with about 16 pages of SM/scuba/breath control stuff; Tim said that the artist had done some work for Disney, but trust me, this isnt in the traditional Disney style.
As you can see from the picture to the right, I was going for something of a casual, slutty look with the ripped jeans (over a latex jock), plus the double-layered latex shirts. The jock and the inside black zip-up muscle shirt are from Mr. S; the blue and black racing shirt (and the one Dave was wearing in the picture from the previous night) is from House Wears.
