Analysis Notes

5:1 To answer Superman’s question: no, this is not really Valor.  First, Valor was placed in the Stasis Zone, not the Phantom Zone.  And second, that is not the costume he was wearing when he went in during the 20th century (Superboy v3 #< >) nor when he came out during the 30th (< >).  Superman and Lois must have “slid” (note the issue’s title) sideways through Hypertime into another universe.  The entire premise of this storyline — that what Superman always knew to be true about Krypton was false, that the Silver Age version was the trust — contradicts other extant stories, lending extra credence to the Hypertime sideslip theory.
