Analysis Notes

General This issue is dated 2000, but it was released the same month as January 2001 cover-dated comics.
This entire story is a so-called “Imaginary Story.”  Or maybe it is an authentic Silver Age story, since the assorted scenes except for the framing sequence are all imagined by Mr. Mxyzptlk and Bat-Mite.
Only the pages featuring the Kingdom Come universe are of interest from a postboot perspective, but all Legion-related appearances are detailed here.
8:2-3 Might the Legion of Super-Pets have done better is Proty was with them?  Or if Saturn Girl were around to lend them her super-telepathy so they could communicate with each other?
11:1 There are three mystery Legionnaires seen in this panel: two in the background behind Cosmic Boy and one to the far right.  Two of them are colored like Chemical King and Timber Wolf, but that can’t be, since they had not joined until after Triplicate Girl became Duo Damsel (and Karate Kid and Princess Projectra would be around then, too).  One of them must be Chameleon Boy, who is seen in 11:2-3.  A second might be Rond Vidar, helping with the Time Bubbles.  The only other active Legionnaire unaccounted for is Mon-El, who of course could not travel to the 20th century since he already existed there.  The mystery character also could not be Superboy, obviously, and Elastic Lad/Jimmy Olsen was killed in 6:5.  Dream Girl and Insect Queen are right out, Kid Psycho would be wearing a turban, and surely the Legionnaires would not have brought only a single member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes, so the mystery character is probably Pete Ross, with miscolored hair.
11:1-3 The Legionnaires met Mr. Mxyzptlk in Adventure Comics #< >, and were killed by him there, too.
19:5-6 Mon-El appears here.
49:4 Dream Girl is below Hawkman, and Brainiac 5 is being consoled by Aqualad
50:1 Wildfire and Night Girl on to the right side of the panel.
50:2 Element Lad is in the lower-left.
50:3 Mon-El and Sensor Girl are in this panel.
51:6 Only Wildfire is seen in this panel, but at least Lightning is present, since he is seen in 51:7.
57-59 These pages occur during the final battle in Kingdom Come #4.  (Or they would occur there, if some of the characters had been present, which they were not.)
58/59:2 Phoebus (possibly Sun Boy) is fighting Wildcat.
58/59:3 Starman VIII (Star Boy) and Phoebus are in the lower-left, and Red Tornado III (possibly Kinetix) is ion the upper-right.
