Analysis Notes

General Superman, Superboy, Supergirl, Steel, Batman, and Mr. Mxyzptlk were turned into (the Legion of) Super-Pets in Adventures of Superman #583, as Krypto, Beppo), Streaky, Comet, Ace the Bat-Hound, and Proty, respectively.
1:2 Streaky chasing Justice League mice echoes the super mice seen in issues of Top Ten; in particular, a Martian Mousehunter was also seen there.
1:3 Beppo was a monkey, not a chimpanzee.
1:4 Comet was a white hose, not a brown one. Then again, Steel isn’t a white man, either.
The character roping Steel was referred to a “Gilly” in Adventures of Superman #583, but the costuming seems to indicate that she is Wonder Woman.  Probably coincidence.
1:5 Jimmy Olsen’s “Gravedigger Lad” costume is similar to his Silver Age Elastic Lad outfit.
2 Batman has apparently be changed back from being Ace the Bat-Hound.
3:4-5 Gravedigger Lad’s staff transformed into the fire hydrant.  (Fire hydrants, of course, secretly want revenge against dogs.)
