PansexualMasters And slaves Together (MAsT) Salem Meeting
Salem, OR, 3:30–5:30 pm
MAsT: Salem is a pansexual group that meets monthly for education about, discussion of, and support in power exchange relationships.  If you would like to attend, make a point of introducing yourself to either SilentType or LilMissAnjelle.  If we don’t know you, it’s almost certain you won’t be invited.  We try to respect the privacy of our fellow attendees.  It is not a “drop in” event, so please do arrive no later than the end of the gathering time.  If that is not possible for you, please wait for the next meeting.  If you would like to bring a snack (for yourself or to share) or drinks (for yourself or to share) feel free to do so.  Location details will be provided when we respond to the RSVP’ed folks.  Regarding RSVP: We try to respond to RSVPs no later than a week before the meeting.  If you RSVP in the last week before the meeting, please send a message as well because we will probably be more sporadic in checked to be sure that everyone is attended to.  Included in the RSVP response will be the topic and the location.  Our meeting will be set up as follows: 3:30–4:00 gathering time, 4:00–5:00 discussion, 5:00–5:30 visiting time.

Country-Western DanceRain Country Line Dancing @ Home
Your Space, 7:00–9:00 pm with lesson @ 7:30 pm
Lessons: Mucara Walk / Instructor: Jim / DJ: Jim
We may not be able to get together to dance at this time, but we can still dance together.  At the same time.  Socially distanced but in synch.  Join us on the Zoom video conference system — install it on your phone, tablet, or laptop (it’s free), call into the “meeting”, and set your device where you can see other people dancing.  (You may also be able to cast to a TV and set your device in front of it.)  Jim will DJ a bunch of our Tuesday night favorites, and we can all dance — or have a beverage and just watch, and use Zoom’s chat feature.  We will also try to add a lesson into the mix.  A 6'x6' space would be best, but you may be able to work with a smaller space than that.  (NOTE: if you will be dancing on carpet, you’ve got to have slick-soled shoes or you might hurt your knees or ankles.  It’s a lot different from dancing on a wood floor.)
Here is the link to the meeting. Go into Gallery Mode so you can see everyone who is in the meeting. Oh, and be sure to Start Video so we can see you, too.

WorkshopCultivating D/s Through Ritual and Protocol
Online, 7:00–10:00 pm / $40 (buy online)
Ritual and protocol are often the most visible manifestations of a Dominant/Submissive interaction.  You can’t see the power exchange, but you can see the collar or the respectful stance, you can hear the language, and you can observe the rules that govern the interactions.  These tools help us reinforce tradition, strengthen authority, establish the beginning and ending of scenes, and guide behavior.  Ritual helps us build the container that defines the sacred space for our exchange.  It gains power with use, providing comfort and guidance.  Protocol adds formality and gravitas, and helps to shape behavior towards an intention.  And rules are the stuff of D/S fantasy.  For many, they are the first tangible way to express a power dynamic.  This workshop will help you understand the role ritual and protocol can play in a D/S dynamic, and will provide tools you can use to define and nourish your own unique connection.  There’ll be a few exercises, and some hot demos.  As with all of Max’s workshops, a handout will be provided to facilitate your learning and retention.  This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.  Online access link provided upon regisrtation.

WorkshopFundamentals of Rope Bondage
Online, 7:00–10:00 pm / $25 (buy online)
Want to add more bondage to your love life?  Wish you felt — and looked — more confident with your rope work?  Questions about safety, style or what kind of rope to use?  Looking for knots that work well, are easy to tie and that you can actually remember?  Looking for folks who share your interest in rope bondage?  Join Max for the always-popular "Fundamentals of Rope Bondage" class.  Registered attendees will receive directions to access the online workshop.
This workshop begins with an overview of bondage techniques and materials, with lots of “show and tell” items and pointers on buying appropriate bondage materials.  The remainder of the class is formatted as lecture / demo, with structured opportunities for hands-on practice after the workshop.  It’s full of useful knots and easy-to-tie positions.  By the end of the workshop, you will have some basic skills and will be able to practice tying up your partner with grace and confidence.  The whole workshop is interactive. You’re encouraged to bring your questions and to participate via the video/audio connection and the text chat.  There will be a few opportunities for solo practice during the class.  Please have the following at hand to facilitate this practice: (1) 10-foot piece of 6mm or 8mm, (1) 30-foot piece of 6mm or 8mm.  Appropriate social distancing means that many of us do not have ready access to a practice partner.  This class is structured to facilitate practicing on yourself/inanimate objects/partners after the class, but does not require a practice partner during the class.  There will be a 30 minute practice period after the class if you’d like to practice on camera while Max watches and assists.  Max’s classes always have a handout, and you’ll receive yours as part of your welcome packet after you register.  It’s 15+ pages designed to reinforce the online instruction, helping you remember the knots and techniques as you practice.  As always, the emphasis is on learning and having fun.  No prior knowledge of bondage or knots is assumed for this class — it’s perfectly appropriate for beginners.  If you’ve already done some bondage, it’s a great way to tune up your technique.  This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.

LeatherwomenQueer Women’s Social
Cuff Complex (1533 13th Ave., Seattle), 7:00–10:00 pm
This woman-centric event puts queer leather women to the front!  Women need a place that can be uplifting and empowering to them and now we have it!  If you are a queer woman and enjoy spending time with other queer women, you and your queer guests are welcome.  Invited guests do not need to identify as women but must attend with women.  Many of us want a women’s space that simultaneously is for us while allowing space for those we care about.  Above all else, this is a space for and by queer women.  While that includes allowing space for the partners and close friends of women, please be respectful of the women-centric nature of the space.  While this event can run past 11:00 pm, the atmosphere can switch on weekends and we may not be able to maintain a woman-centric space later in the evening.  As this monthly event grows, we will have the opportunity to provide space for queer women’s organizations and events to host each month’s social, increasing awareness of events and spaces that might be unknown but of interest to leather women while providing opportunities to expand, fundraise, and have fun!  If you are interested in hosting a monthly social and are a club, organization, or event focused on women in the LGBTQ+ and leather communities, please reach out!  We would love to share space with you!

The Wise (1882 Adanac St., Vancouver, BC), 6:45–8:45 pm
Come join us for a fun couple of hours cracking whips.  Newbie or well practiced, curious or have an extensive whip collection all are welcome to participate and socialize.  It’s an opportunity to connect with others who share your interest in whips. This is a skill share activity.  There is no predetermined technical instruction set up for each practice.  On occasion, a mini-workshop is offered by an experienced whip enthusiast to highlight something they find interesting and wish to share.  For those that are new or nearly new to whips, and do not own a whip, there is often an extra whip or two that can be borrowed.  Where other participants in attendance are willing, you may get to experience throwing their whips if you ask nicely (depending upon their preference to share or not).  Some of us are quite partial to our whips, ya know!  Bring your juice or caffeinated beverages as you will get thirsty during practice.  Water is provided as well a plastic cups but you may want to provide your own container.  It is requested that alcoholic beverages be left at home.  MVK, which sponsors this event, the venue (Wise Hall) and/or the host(ess) assume no responsibility for any injuries incurred while attending the practice.  It is entirely at the attendee’s risk.

Safeword is a fun, foxy, shame-free environment with a verbal contract with the audience incorporated into the show and a commitment to sexy consent and a uproarious good time!  From the deranged minds of Seattle’s Queen of Kinky Comedy Claire Webber and practicing sodomite Bobby Higley comes a game-show style kink show.  This is a sexy show, but it is in no way a sex show.  There will be no nudity, and no one will be made to feel uncomfortable or ashamed.  If anything like that occurs at the show, anyone to report the bad behavior will be deeply rewarded in praise and love of their fellow people.  There will be no photos until after the show.  Photos will be taken by the incredible Shan Collier.  Because (_-Consent is Lit AF BB-_) we have a one-strike rule: break the rules, you will be escorted out.  The lovely staff don’rsquo;t take kindly to assholes, creeps, homophobes, transphobes, MAGA hats, and dumbass rule-breaking hooligans!  There will be some built-in audience participation, and we want it enthusiastic, playful, and shame free!  That includes the comics!

WorkshopRope Handling
Gallery Erato (301 1st Ave. S, Seattle), 12:00 noon–3:00 pm / $30 solo, $50 duo (buy online)
Often when people get started with rope, the first thing they focus on learning are knots and patterns.  While these are really good fundamentals to get you started, these skills often don’t translate into making good scenes or good performances.  This class will cover some of the basics of great rope handling, and will focus on two primary parts: the biomechanics of rope handling, and the techniques that usually equate to better connection.  This class is lecture, demo, and hands-on tying.  All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations welcome and celebrated.   No late entry will be allowed due to the intimate nature of this workshop.  Doors will be locked at 10 minutes after the start time.   Water available, please bring your own cup or bottle.   Open to all 18+.   Attendance is limited to 30 people.

Line Dance Step Sheets and Videos: http://www.copperknob.co.uk/stepsheets/TBD.aspx

QueerPDX Queer Munch
Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta, Portland), 6:00–8:00 pm
This munch is for anyone who identifies as queer and their partners.  By queer, we mean gay men, lesbians, fags, dykes, bisexuals, pansexuals, and polysexuals along with transfolk, those who are genderqueer, gender flexible, gender fluid, and gender fuckers.  If the word queer feels like home for part of you or all of you, you are welcome.  And when we say “partner” , we mean everything from play partners to life partners.  The Portland Queer Munch will happen every month on the first or second Thursday (depending on scheduling options).
The space is wheelchair accessible and the menu has lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (and all clearly labeled!).  There is plenty of free street parking and the 72 bus will drop you off within a block of The Radio Room.  The munch will meet on the main floor instead of in the lounge areas so that we won’t be limited to 21+.  This does mean that we can’t be too demonstrative about our kink so as not to scare off their other patrons, but the venue is completely aware of what our group is about and is happy to have us there!  Please buy something to support the venue so that they’ll keep having us back.  They do know that not everyone will be ordering food/eating full meals, but please do get a drink or a snack.  Bottomless coffee is $2, and an order of fries is $3, to give you an idea of the prices.

The LEEP Kennel is proud to offer a new experience at the Public Mosh: Mat-Side Puppy Training!  Whether this is your first visit to the Mosh, or maybe you’re just not quite sure how to get in on the fun, our Guest Trainer will be teaching the basics of Moshing to help get you comfortable getting in on the fun and engaging on the mats with all the other Pups!  Look for Mat-Side Training during the first 30 minutes of the Public Mosh in a corner of the Quiet Mats!

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
