Private location in the Portland area, 4:00–6:00 pm / $5 (free for MAsT members, must join MAsT to attend repeatedly)
These meetings are centered around a discussion on a series of topics.  Although there is usually a specific topic announced ahead of time, we also discuss anything that happens to be of importance to those present.  All are welcome — you do not have to be in an M/s relationship to attend or even a member of MAsT.  Please feel free to join us if you are interested in finding out more or sharing your experiences about power exchange relationships.  We do ask that you are respectful of those present.  This is not a play party or munch.

Country-Western DanceRain Country Line Dancing @ Home
Online via Zoom (from Seattle), 7:00–9:00 pm with lesson @ 7:30 pm
Lessons: The Wolf + Make You Sweat recap / Instructor: Pete / DJ: Jim
We may not be able to get together to dance at this time, but we can still dance together.  At the same time.  Socially distanced but in synch.  Join us on the Zoom video conference system — install it on your phone, tablet, or laptop (it’s free), call into the “meeting”, and set your device where you can see other people dancing.  (You may also be able to cast to a TV and set your device in front of it.)  Jim will DJ a bunch of our Tuesday night favorites, and we can all dance — or have a beverage and just watch, and use Zoom’s chat feature.  We will also try to add a lesson into the mix.  A 6x6 space would be best, but you may be able to work with a smaller space than that.  (NOTE: if you will be dancing on carpet, you’ve got to have slick-soled shoes or you might hurt your knees or ankles.  It’s a lot different from dancing on a wood floor.)
Here is the link to the meeting.  Go into Gallery Mode so you can see everyone who is in the meeting.  Oh, and be sure to Start Video so we can see you, too.  https://zoom.us/j/181948351

We’ll have very generous 8 ft spacing (beyond the 6ft minimum), five separate bathrooms, and otherwise the space meets or exceeds all OHA requirements.  The Dance With Joy ballroom has a spacious wood dance floor that is easy on the knees and spins like a dream!  There will be a maximum of 12 dancers per night in order to meet the social distancing requirements.   Masks or face shields are required.  We will have masks available at the dance.  We will have reusable water bottles for sale (plus Stomptown stickers!), but you are encouraged to bring your own.  We have a water bottle filling station.   We now accept contactless payments by Venmo, Paypal, Zelle ,and credit card.   We can accept cash but we cannot offer change.  If the amount is prohibitive for anyone, we have scholarships available and no one will be turned away for lack of funds.  Since there is a cap of 12 dancers, it is first come, first served but you can preregister to reserve your spot by email.  Can’t make it in person?  We still want to see your beautiful face! Join us by Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/449604231, and free).  We’ll be streaming the lesson and line dances afterwards.

LeatherSeattle Men in Leather Friday Social
Online via Zoom (from Seattle), 8:00–10:00 pm
Join us on Friday night for an online version of SML’s 1st Friday Leather Social.  We will use the Zoom video conference system, complete with breakout rooms so smaller groups can chat more easily.  Gear up, grab yourself a beverage (adult or otherwise), and join us for some quality leathermen time.  Gear It Up!  This is a *leather* (and such) social, so it’s time to break some gear out of the closet and drawers and bins — something casual, or full BLUF formal, if you like.  Rubber, puppy, uniform, whatever floats your kink boat that night!  Bigger screens are better, of course (we’re all size queens in our way!), so if you have a tablet or laptop, that’s better than a phone.  And if you can cast to your TV, so much the better.)
Zoom link will be provided to SML members via email and in the Facebook on the day of the event.
Special this month: The Seattle Leather Artists Media Art Show was originally scheduled for March, but was cancelled due to Coronavirus concerns.   We are taking it online!  This month, at about 8:30 pm, we will have special guest Ed Bader from Alberta joining us, giving a presentation on and showing some of his leather-themed art (and maybe selling some, too).   Please join us.  This will take about 30 minutes, maybe more if the discussion trends that direction.

Join us on Thursday night for an online version of SML’s 3rd Thursday Leather Social.

Country-Western DanceVirtual LGBT Line Dance Explosion
Dance with Joy Studios (8051 SE 16th Ave., Portland), 8:00–10:00 pm (lessons @ 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm)
We’ll have very generous 8 ft spacing (beyond the 6 ft minimum), five separate bathrooms, and otherwise the space meets or exceeds all OHA requirements.  The Dance With Joy ballroom has a spacious wood dance floor that is easy on the knees and spins like a dream!  There will be a maximum of 12 dancers per night in order to meet the social distancing requirements.  Masks or face shields are required.  We will have masks available at the dance.  We will have reusable water bottles for sale (plus Stomptown stickers!) but you are encouraged to bring your own.

PuppyPDX PAH Puppy Mosh: Digital Mosh
Online via Zoom (from Portland), 3:30–6:00 pm
We had a great turnout in April and are excited to bring back the digital mosh for May!   Come in all your favorite gear, bring your chew toys along, and munch on treats and snacks.   You can even wear the spiky collars and shoes that you can’t at our regular moshes!   We will be using Zoom, a video chat platform that allows up to 100 users to tune in at a time.  All you need is a computer or phone that allows you to tune in; if you don’t have a video camera or mic, you can still chat with folks and see what is happening on the screen.  This format also lets you create a custom username so people can see you by your pet or scene name instead of a legal name.  Notes:
1) Please wear bar-friendly gear.  Tail plugs are ok.
2) This will be a strictly 18+ event.
3) Please refrain from heavier BDSM and sexual play.  While we are all adults, not everyone is comfortable seeing that and you never know who may be tuning in on their lunch break.  Fetish gear, restraints, and light play are okay.
4) While we love squeaky toys and barks and howls, please be mindful of getting them too close to your mics.

Country-Western DanceRain Country Line Dancing @ Home
Online via Zoom (from Seattle), 7:00–9:00 pm with lesson @ 7:30 pm
Lessons: The Wolf + Make You Sweat recap / Instructor: Pete / DJ: Jim
Line Dance Step Sheets and Videos: http://www.copperknob.co.uk/stepsheets/TBD.aspx

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
