Workshop: Cigars are a medium for many things.  From power, pleasure, or suffering to exhibition, service, ritual, and more; cigars can provide a mechanism for the things many of us are seeking in BDSM.  They’re sensual, earthy and carry a particular mystique and aesthetic that can’t be overlooked.  Cigars provide a way to thrill or overwhelm multiple senses at once while relaxing with friends or on your own back porch on a weeknight.  Whether you’re unsure which end to cut or you’ve offered up a few ashes, come join this guided discussion and demonstration of beginning cigar play concepts and techniques with _TheCaptain_ and Thrice.
Cigar Lounge: Put on a smoking jacket and your best boots and come on down for an evening of puffing and paddling, or whatever else our heart desires.  We’ll be converting the back space into a comfy smoking lounge and playspace, while the front will be kept as smoke free as possible.  This will be a BYOB event — see the BSPC policy for more information.

WorkshopKinky Pizza Social
Puget Sound Pizza (317 S 7th St., Tacoma), 6:00–8:00 pm
Join folks from the local kink and leather communities as we gather together for some great conversation over a glass of your favorite beverage or a hot slice of pizza.  Meet new folks, catch up with old friends, share information, techniques, skills, and the like.  This open event is a great way to find out about local events, parties, or to just grow your own personal network.  No guided discussions, no presentations, just relaxed conversation with some great folks.  This event is held twice monthly, on the 2nd and 4th thursdays, at one of Tacoma’s favorite pizza joints, Puget Sound Pizza.  While it is open to the public, we tend to take over the entire lower bar.  Dress is casual public.  Eating dinner is not required and tips are appreciated.  NOTE: This is an 18+ event and not a topic discussion group.  If this is your first time attending please say hello to our host Sir Doug so that he can properly welcome you!  If you don’t see Sir Doug around, please introduce yourself to any of the SSLA Members in attendance (we are usually wearing a leather vest with a SSLA patch on the back) or our surrogate co-host, Maxx who also hosts the Kinky Cocktails & Karaoke afterwards.  We want to have the opportunity to say hello, welcome you, and answer any questions that you might have!

PansexualSemi-Open South Sound Leather Alliance Play Party
The Slaughterhouse (Tacoma), 8:00 pm–12:00 midnight / $10
The South Sound Leather Alliance (SSLA) was formed to create space for Leather folk to hang out and to share their friendship and knowledge of leather play, protocol, and kink. SSLA Members in good standing, Friends of Slaughterhouse, and invited guests (who have been previously vetted) are welcome to attend.  If you bring guests who you feel will fit in with our community and be respectful of our space you may do so but please contact Odie for approval.  Remember, you are responsible for your guest.  (If you have questions about this contact Odie Heaston on Facebook / RoughnBootz on FetLife.)  See event listing for details on venue, vetting, and dress code.
We like it on the dark side!  While our annual Halloween Party is not “a costume party”, it is an event that we ask you to dress with intent.  By all means wear your hottest dungeon wear, break out the latex and gas masks, wrap up your partner in your tightest straight jacket, conduct a full horror-ific medical scene, or get in bed with your favorite blood sucker!  Why do we host this party?  While there are plenty of amazing Halloween parties we could be attending anywhere along the Sound, we want to play on the darkside with our friends and our community, here, closer to home.  Traditionally those who attend and play at this party tap into their dark sides, so it is not an event for the faint at heart.  Any taboo play must go through Odie/RoughnBootz first, contact him directly.

WorkshopWorkshop: Demystifying STIs and Safer Sex
Greenwood Public Library Meeting Room (8016 Greenwood Ave. N, Seattle), 6:30–7:30 pm / Free
Info: https://thefspc.org/event/workshop-demystifying-stis-and-safer-sex-25/?instance_id=TBD
Whether you’re new to sex or jumping back into dating, having good information about sex and the related health concerns is important.  What is Safer Sex and how can we make it fun and easy to incorporate into our romantic and playful encounters?  Prepare to learn: how to decide what Safer Sex protocols are for you; an overview of available supplies (as well as how to make your own in emergencies); when and how to easily bring up “the talk”; and how to make Safer Sex sexy!  We will focus on solid facts about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and dispelling the stigmas that are often attached to these infections so you can make informed and rational decisions regarding your health.  All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations welcome and celebrated.  Attendance is limited to 40 people.
QueerPDX Queer Munch
Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta, Portland), 6:30–8:30 pm
This munch is for anyone who identifies as queer and their partners.  By queer, we mean gay men, lesbians, fags, dykes, bisexuals, pansexuals, and polysexuals along with transfolk, those who are genderqueer, gender flexible, gender fluid, and gender fuckers.  If the word queer feels like home for part of you or all of you, you are welcome.  And when we say “partner” we mean everything from play partners to life partners.  The Portland Queer Munch will happen every month on the first or second Thursday (depending on scheduling options).
The space is wheelchair accessible and the menu has lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (and all clearly labeled!).  There is plenty of free street parking and the 72 bus will drop you off within a block of The Radio Room.  The munch will meet on the main floor instead of in the lounge areas so that we won’t be limited to 21+.  This does mean that we can’t be too demonstrative about our kink so as not to scare off their other patrons, but the venue is completely aware of what our group is about and is happy to have us there!  Please buy something to support the venue so that they’ll keep having us back.  They do know that not everyone will be ordering food/eating full meals, but please do get a drink or a snack.  Bottomless coffee is $2, and an order of fries is $3, to give you an idea of the prices.

Leather Reign is a Leather/BDSM/Kink conference in the Seattle area focused on "making the most of our kink," now in our eleventh year.  Seattle area is very well covered when it comes to the introductory “how-to” topics.  Leather Reign invites both a) new speakers with new perspectives and b) favored speakers from past conferences, offering new ideas, experienced perspectives, and interesting discussions.  We provide an environment that facilitates personal growth for everyone as well as developing the community as a whole.  Come join us!  Leather Reign is intended to supplement these topics with three core areas:
• Why we do what we do, what is in it for us? — This may involve some technique, but the focus will be on why it is done instead of how.
• Dominance and submission/Mastery and slavery/service topics – These topics will include subjects such as the way relationships are structured, the calling to a BDSM role, the formalities of service, etc.
• How-to at the 201 level and above – These will include different forms of edge play, advanced techniques, or creative forms of BDSM.

WorkshopAll The Demos!
Private location in Seattle, 7:00–10:00 pm / $35 (buy in advance)
Presented by Max.  This is a highly interactive event, mostly comprised of demos on attendee volunteers.  It provides a safe and informal space to observe, experience, learn, and discuss a number of kink activities.  After a brief introduction covering scene dynamics, negotiation and safety, volunteers have opportunities to bottom to Max for demos which may include:
• Rope bondage
• Electrical toys — violet wands, TENS/ErosTek, stun guns and zappers
• Needles / temporary piercing
• Pressure points
• Floggers
• Singletail whips
• Canes
• D/S and service dynamics
• Leather & metal bondage (including hoods)
• Cages
• Erotic hypnosis
Each demo will include some time for a debrief and Q&A.  This is a great workshop for anyone curious about kink, as it’s an unusual opportunity to see many different types of play up close and personal.  It’s also valuable for more experienced kinksters who would like to see a professional demonstration.  And it’s a great opportunity to meet Max and to do a demo scene with him, of course.  This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  You can bring a partner or a group of friends, but coming alone is completely comfortable and appropriate.  If you miss this workshop or want a deeper experience, Max also offers private instruction for bondage and many other BDSM techniques.  Class size is limited and preregistration is required.

The Olympians are a social club for gay (and straight but not narrow) men who enjoy the freedom which comes with nudity.  The group gets together in whole or in part on a monthly basis.  We call these “events”.  They are not necessarily “parties” but potluck functions, which consist of a meal and dessert, followed with social interaction and “other” forms of contact, including physical.  These events are usually hosted in the homes of Olympians’ members, but a few times a year held in a rented space, with complete respect to be given to the owner’s property at all times.  We always want the events to be a pleasant experience, as sharing the company of several other nude men can be.  Swimming pool and hot tub this month.

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
