This month: After a l-o-n-g, lonely pandemic, MAsT: Salem will resume meeting in person!  Well… maybe.  Those of us who have been fully vaccinated against COVID will gather in person.  If you haven’t been fully vaccinated, you can still join the meeting via Zoom (RSVP on the FetLife event page to receive the Zoom link).  We plan to hold hybrid meetings to open the doors to as many (vetted) participants as possible.  This month, we will discuss how we can grow the chapter, share outreach ideas, education, and create opportunities for you to contribute your time and talents to this group and your larger Leather, M/s, and kink community.

BikersBorder Riders Motorcycle Run
Molalla, OR / cost TBD
As a group campsite was not secured for the August campout, Dave J ponied up his place just outside of the town of Molalla.  Located about 1 hr south of Portland and 7 more miles up the river from the town of Molalla, it sits on the cusp of forest land into the Cascade Range and the confluence of two rivers.  The two-acre property sports a full acre of lawn, dance hall, and social areas that also provide easy access for motorcycles and tents.  Power is available to keep those CPAPs running all night.  A honey pot toilet will be provided to help keep the septic system from being overwhelmed, and a shower can be used inside the house.  The hot tub will be opened for anyone wanting to soak after a long day riding.  I’ll submit a waiver application to the fire district to ask for a campfire, but don’t put to much hope on this for it this time of year.  As a consolation, there is a propane fire pit located in the social area that we could fire up.  Current plans are Friday for dinner, we’ll go into town.  Saturday morning, we’ll head to a local restaurant for breakfast, then fire up the big BBQ and make some burgers and brats for Saturday’s dinner.  Sunday morning, we’ll have coffee and pastries to get us all kick started, and information on places for breakfast if you want to eat on the way out.  The river is across the road and the neighbors allow us to use their access.  August is the best time of year to take a cool dip in the water.  There are a number of rides in the area that might interest you, of which a highlight destination is Silver Falls State Park, where some very nice waterfalls can be seen near the parking areas without having to hike far.

PuppyPDX PAH Puppy Mosh: Pending TBD
CC Slaughters (219 NW Davis St., Portland), 3:30–6:00 pm
Come in all your favorite gear, bring your chew toys along, and munch on treats and snacks.  You can even wear the spiky collars and shoes that you can’t at our regular moshes!  We will be using Zoom, a video chat platform that allows up to 100 users to tune in at a time.  All you need is a computer or phone that allows you to tune in; if you don’t have a video camera or mic, you can still chat with folks and see what is happening on the screen.  This format also lets you create a custom username so people can see you by your pet or scene name instead of a legal name.
Notes:
1) Please wear bar-friendly gear.  Tail plugs are ok.
2) This will be a strictly 18+ event.
3) Please refrain from heavier BDSM and sexual play.  While we are all adults, not everyone is comfortable seeing that and you never know who may be tuning in on their lunch break.  Fetish gear, restraints, and light play are okay.
4) While we love squeaky toys and barks and howls, please be mindful of getting them too close to your mics.

Private location in WSE, 7:00 pm–12:00 midnight (doors close @ 9:00 pm) / $10 donation
PDX Dungeon Parties are kink-friendly BDSM parties held every 3rd Saturday of the month in a private playspace.  This is a BDSM party with plenty of fisting, watersports, toys, bondage, flogging, sounding, electro, fucking, sucking, and anything else kinky you want.  It runs until midnight or later, depending on what’s happening.  We are located in east Vancouver, less than 15 minutes from the airport.  We have 4 slings, 2 bondage/ massage tables, 3 flogging crosses, 1 medical exam table, 1 rim seat, 1 massage/fisting chair, a gyno/fisting chair, a suspension hoist, a piss pool or a shower for piss play during the colder months, lots of sounding and electro play things, and more toys than most toy stores.  This is a drug and alcohol free party.  There is a $10 suggested donation to help cover the costs of running this party.  We always have between 25 and 45 guys attend which is about our capacity so make sure if you want to come that you sign up early.  And if you decide not to come, feel free to cancel your request so someone else has a chance to come.

Private location near Portland / $70 (only tent camping still available)
Pacific Northwest Leathermen’s Campout (PNWLC) is a weekend camping retreat held each August in the Portland area.  Located on a private, secluded 15-acre forested property east of Oregon City, OR, the site is roughly 25 minutes south of Portland International Airport, an hour north of Salem, and 45 minutes southeast of Hillsboro.  We strive to promote education and community-building among all male-identifying persons in the Pacific Northwest area.  This is a clothing-optional event where male-identifying (regardless of gender assigned at birth) persons who are 21+ years old can explore and enjoy a full range of leather, kink, fetish, and BDSM activities.  Our aim is to build strong community bonds through learning, socializing and play between all ages and experience levels.  We foster a welcoming, safe, sane, consensual, and sex-positive environment.  Body diversity is welcome at this event as men come in all shapes and sizes.

The Olympians are a social club for gay (and straight but not narrow) men who enjoy the freedom which comes with nudity.  The group gets together in whole or in part on a monthly basis.  We call these “events”.  They are not necessarily “parties” but potluck functions, which consist of a meal and dessert, followed with social interaction and “other” forms of contact, including physical.  These events are usually hosted in the homes of Olympians’ members, but a few times a year held in a rented space, with complete respect to be given to the owner’s property at all times.  We always want the events to be a pleasant experience, as sharing the company of several other nude men can be.
Limited to 60 attendees.

WorkshopSome of the Demos!
Onine via TBD (from Seattle), 7:00–8:30 pm / $15 (buy in advance TBD)
Presented by Max.  This is a highly interactive event, mostly comprised of demos on attendee volunteers.  It provides a safe and informal space to observe, experience, learn, and discuss a number of kink activities.  After a brief introduction covering scene dynamics, negotiation and safety, volunteers have opportunities to bottom to Max for demos which may include:
• Rope bondage
• Electrical toys — violet wands, TENS/ErosTek, stun guns and zappers
• Needles / temporary piercing
• Pressure points
• Floggers
• Singletail whips
• Canes
• D/S and service dynamics
• Leather & metal bondage (including hoods)
• Cages
• Erotic hypnosis
Each demo will include some time for a debrief and Q&A.  This is a great workshop for anyone curious about kink, as it’s an unusual opportunity to see many different types of play up close and personal.  It’s also valuable for more experienced kinksters who would like to see a professional demonstration.  And it’s a great opportunity to meet Max and to do a demo scene with him, of course.  This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  You can bring a partner or a group of friends, but coming alone is completely comfortable and appropriate.  If you miss this workshop or want a deeper experience, Max also offers private instruction for bondage and many other BDSM techniques.  Class size is limited and preregistration is required.
This is an online event, modeled after the highly successful All The Demos event that has been running since 2014.  Max will have demo partners on-site, and you get to watch, learn, and interact remotely. Online event information will be shared with registered attendees.

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
