WorkshopAll The Demos!
Private location in Seattle, 7:00–10:00 pm / $35 (buy in advance)
Presented by Max.  This is a highly interactive event, mostly comprised of demos on attendee volunteers.  It provides a safe and informal space to observe, experience, learn, and discuss a number of kink activities.  After a brief introduction covering scene dynamics, negotiation and safety, volunteers have opportunities to bottom to Max for demos which may include:
• Rope bondage
• Electrical toys — violet wands, TENS/ErosTek, stun guns and zappers
• Needles / temporary piercing
• Pressure points
• Floggers
• Singletail whips
• Canes
• D/S and service dynamics
• Leather & metal bondage (including hoods)
• Cages
• Erotic hypnosis
Each demo will include some time for a debrief and Q&A.  This is a great workshop for anyone curious about kink, as it’s an unusual opportunity to see many different types of play up close and personal.  It’s also valuable for more experienced kinksters who would like to see a professional demonstration.  And it’s a great opportunity to meet Max and to do a demo scene with him, of course.  This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  You can bring a partner or a group of friends, but coming alone is completely comfortable and appropriate.  If you miss this workshop or want a deeper experience, Max also offers private instruction for bondage and many other BDSM techniques.  Class size is limited and preregistration is required.

PuppyVAN-PAH Community Camping Trip 2018
Shadow Falls Campground (east of Vancouver, BC) / $15 per night (+$5 for RV utilities if needed)
We will be heading up to Shadow Falls Campground.  Shadow Falls is a gay owned clothing optional campground about 1.5 hours east of Vancouver, heading towards Harrison Hot Springs.  They have about 40 acres of private property with many amenities such as hot showers, flush toilets, club house with pool table and social area, large social fire pit, small store for firewood/snacks, and power even at the tent sites.  Come enjoy the grotto and the waterfalls.  Take a dip in the brisk lower falls pool.  Take a hike up the mountain to overlook the valley.  Or hang out around your camp and share stories with friends.  We have a good group already reserved for the camping weekend.  Reservations can still be made up to the actual weekend though keep in mind that as the date gets closer you may have less options for available sites.  You can reserve on the evnt webpage.  If you have a group that all want to share the same site, the campground recommends that one person puts in a reservation for the group and the staff will do their best to keep everyone together.   Visit the event webpage for more details.
Last year we had our community step up to bring things to do that everyone could partake in.  We had some volleyball, a movie night under the stars, and a hike.  This year we urge anyone who wants to get a group together to do things to email vanpah@gmail.com with what you’d like to do and when (what day and if it’s time sensitive).  This way we can set up a bit of a schedule so everyone knows what is going on.  Want to bring your favorite game to play?  Want to take a few people into the woods for a photoshoot or go for a hike?  Let us know!

This month: Journey West!  In 1804, President Thomas Jefferson enlisted Meriwether Lewis and William Clark’s Corps of Discovery to explore the uncharted West and find an all-water route across North America to unite sea with shining sea.  This is the narrative we were taught.  Sign on for “Journey West! The Legend of Lewis and Clark” and join an epic quest that re-blazes the historic trail to the Pacific through song, dance, and Sasquatch in this whimsical and irreverent send-up of one of America’s most beloved origin stories.  Embark on this outrageous musical excursion and explore how we as a country choose to tell the stories of our past.  If history is written by the victors, then what does it look like through the lens of the disenfranchised?  Who gets to tell their story vs. who gets their story told for them?  And who becomes a footnote?  With “Journey West! The Legend of Lewis and Clark” we aim to change this narrative as our diverse, genderqueer cast and crew bring this adventure to the stage.  Copious Love Productions is overjoyed to premiere our thirteenth full-length production as we, along with the writer Andrew Lee Creech, invite you into truly untrodden territory with this world-premiere musical.  Andrew is a writer, performer, and musician proudly hailing from the Pacific Northwest.  He is dedicated to telling fun, unique, and important stories, while fostering the growth, success, and visibility of young POC artists.

WorkshopWorkshop: Demystifying STIs and Safer Sex
Ballard Public Library Meeting Room (5614 22nd Ave NW Seattle), 6:30–7:30 pm / Free
Whether you’re new to sex or jumping back into dating, having good information about sex and the related health concerns is important.  What is Safer Sex and how can we make it fun and easy to incorporate into our romantic and playful encounters?  Prepare to learn: how to decide what Safer Sex protocols are for you; an overview of available supplies (as well as how to make your own in emergencies); when and how to easily bring up “the talk”; and how to make Safer Sex sexy!  We will focus on solid facts about Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) and dispelling the stigmas that are often attached to these infections so you can make informed and rational decisions regarding your health.  All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations welcome and celebrated.
Occurs bi-monthly: February, April, June, August, October, December.
QueerPDX Queer Munch
Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta, Portland), 6:30–8:30 pm
This munch is for anyone who identifies as queer and their partners.  By queer, we mean gay men, lesbians, fags, dykes, bisexuals, pansexuals, and polysexuals along with transfolk, those who are genderqueer, gender flexible, gender fluid, and gender fuckers.  If the word queer feels like home for part of you or all of you, you are welcome.  And when we say “partner” we mean everything from play partners to life partners.  The Portland Queer Munch will happen every month on the first or second Thursday (depending on scheduling options).
The space is wheelchair accessible and the menu has lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (and all clearly labeled!).  There is plenty of free street parking and the 72 bus will drop you off within a block of The Radio Room.  The munch will meet on the main floor instead of in the lounge areas so that we won’t be limited to 21+.  This does mean that we can’t be too demonstrative about our kink so as not to scare off their other patrons, but the venue is completely aware of what our group is about and is happy to have us there!  Please buy something to support the venue so that they’ll keep having us back.  They do know that not everyone will be ordering food/eating full meals, but please do get a drink or a snack.  Bottomless coffee is $2, and an order of fries is $3, to give you an idea of the prices.

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
