WorkshopIntimate Hypnosis — An Introduction
Lover’s Lair (4001 198th St. SW #7, Lynnwood, WA), 7:00–10:00 pm
Hypnosis is an amazing tool for intimacy and a powerful addition to your erotic repertoire.  It can be used to enhance sensation, augment or restrict orgasm, bind someone without rope, sweeten an intimate encounter, or strengthen a D/S relationship.  Ultimately, it’s about forging an intimate connection with your partner. We all have experience with trance states.  Have you ever been so engrossed in a book that you missed your bus stop?  That’s trance.  Have you inadvertently put someone into a trance by brushing their hair, flogging them, or tying them up?  Probably.  Hypnosis helps you reliably return to that state any time you desire.  Hypnosis is fundamentally simple: it’s using language and imagery to program the mind.  We do this with each other — and for ourselves — all the time.  Using our words with more deliberation and clearer consent makes all our interactions more productive and more satisfying.  Even if you don’t pursue hypnosis, being more attentive to what you say and how you say it is beneficial everywhere.  Learning a bit about hypnosis makes all your communication more crisp, deliberate, and effective.
In this workshop we will explore the nature of hypnosis, so you’ll have a sense of what’s going on for the hypnotist and for the subject.  We’ll explore key concepts, and learn useful terms like trance, induction, suggestion, and trigger.  Max will do several demos, and his subjects will discuss and answer questions about their experience.  And then we’ll talk about some fun things to do with hypnosis.  Want to help someone become the perfect kitten?  How about feeling like you’re being singletailed with just a touch?  Or perhaps you’d like to give someone the ability to make you aroused — or not aroused — with a word or gesture.  The list of fun ways to use hypnosis is nearly endless. Playing with hypnosis requires a keen understanding of consent.  There are subtleties and considerations unique to this sort of play, and we’ll spend some time discussing hypnosis risks and risk mitigation.  Max teaches a wide variety of hypnosis classes.  This introduction provides a solid foundation for further learning.

WorkshopCMastering Mastery and Subduing Submission: Making D/S Work - an online class
Online via Zoom (from Seattle), 7:00–9:00 pm / $20 (buy online)
Dominant/submissive relationships can be supremely satisfying: you get all the love and mutual support of any good relationship, plus all the power that’s implicit in D/S.  They’re not easy though. D/S requires mad skills, goodwill, self-awareness, and a willingness to be transparent and vulnerable.  Max has been doing consensual, deliberate, D/S since 1992.  Not surprisingly, he has a lot to say about the topic.
This workshop helps you identify what you want from D/S, and provides advanced skills and resources for finding and nurturing your ideal D/S relationship.  As with all of Max’s workshops, a handout will be provided to facilitate your learning and retention.  This workshop assumes no previous BDSM experience and is appropriate for all genders, all orientations, and for both tops and bottoms.

Eagle Portland (835 N Lombard St., Portland), 3:30–6:00 pm
Come in all your favorite gear, bring your chew toys along, and munch on treats and snacks.  You can even wear the spiky collars and shoes that you can’t at our regular moshes!  We will be using Zoom, a video chat platform that allows up to 100 users to tune in at a time.  All you need is a computer or phone that allows you to tune in; if you don’t have a video camera or mic, you can still chat with folks and see what is happening on the screen.  This format also lets you create a custom username so people can see you by your pet or scene name instead of a legal name.
Notes:
1) Please wear bar-friendly gear.  Tail plugs are ok.
2) This will be a strictly 18+ event.
3) Please refrain from heavier BDSM and sexual play.  While we are all adults, not everyone is comfortable seeing that and you never know who may be tuning in on their lunch break.  Fetish gear, restraints, and light play are okay.
4) While we love squeaky toys and barks and howls, please be mindful of getting them too close to your mics.

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
