The Wise (1882 Adanac St., Vancouver, BC), 6:45–8:45 pm
This month: Pillars of Consent, presented by LotusV.  Expanding on FRIES, this VOICES model of consent encourages nuance and measured risk.  It moves away from binary ideas on consent and towards risk assessment.  This class isn’t a boring lecture about what not to do.  This class is about rethinking consent as a Best Practices approach — that some practices are inherently safer than others.  Finally, Victor will outline some of the key principles of consent (Pillars) and discuss how invisible power dynamics undermine consent or accidentally coerce participation.

LeatherwomenQueer Women’s Social
Cuff Complex (1533 13th Ave., Seattle), 7:00–10:00 pm
This woman-centric event puts queer leather women to the front!  Women need a place that can be uplifting and empowering to them and now we have it!  If you are a queer woman and enjoy spending time with other queer women, you and your queer guests are welcome.  Invited guests do not need to identify as women but must attend with women.  Many of us want a women’s space that simultaneously is for us while allowing space for those we care about.  Above all else, this is a space for and by queer women.  While that includes allowing space for the partners and close friends of women, please be respectful of the women-centric nature of the space.  While this event can run past 11:00 pm, the atmosphere can switch on weekends and we may not be able to maintain a woman-centric space later in the evening.  As this monthly event grows, we will have the opportunity to provide space for queer women’s organizations and events to host each month’s social, increasing awareness of events and spaces that might be unknown but of interest to leather women while providing opportunities to expand, fundraise, and have fun!  If you are interested in hosting a monthly social and are a club, organization, or event focused on women in the LGBTQ+ and leather communities, please reach out!  We would love to share space with you!

WorkshopBondage for Beginners
Gallery Erato (309 1st Ave. S, Seattle), 1:00–4:00 pm
Interested in adding some bondage to your life, but not sure where to start?  This comprehensive introductory class will introduce you to the basics of rope bondage and give you the skills you need to safely and confidently start exploring bondage on your own.  This is a bondage class rather than a knots class, so our focus is on teaching a small number of versatile techniques that you can use in all kinds of ways.  To help you figure out what to do with them, we’ll have numerous fun demos of the techniques in action, along with suggestions for how to figure out what kind of kink works best for you.  We want you to focus on having fun with your partner rather than struggling to remember numerous different knots, so everything we teach has been carefully chosen to be easy to learn and use in the real world.  As well as bondage techniques, we’ll cover the basics of kink and BDSM.  We’ll talk about consent, safewords, negotiation, and aftercare — everything you need to know in order to start getting up to mischief.  We want to make sure you’re able to remember and use everything we teach you, so our extensive class handouts have step by step instructions for every technique in the class.  With a student:instructor ratio of 6:1, you’ll get plenty of individualized attention to make sure you get the most out of the class.

WorkshopMVK Whip Group
The Wise (1882 Adanac St., Vancouver, BC), 6:45–8:45 pm
Come join us for a fun couple of hours cracking whips.  Newbie or well practiced, curious or have an extensive whip collection all are welcome to participate and socialize.  It’s an opportunity to connect with others who share your interest in whips. This is a skill share activity.  There is no predetermined technical instruction set up for each practice.  On occasion, a mini-workshop is offered by an experienced whip enthusiast to highlight something they find interesting and wish to share.  For those that are new or nearly new to whips, and do not own a whip, there is often an extra whip or two that can be borrowed.  Where other participants in attendance are willing, you may get to experience throwing their whips if you ask nicely (depending upon their preference to share or not).  Some of us are quite partial to our whips, ya know!  Bring your juice or caffeinated beverages as you will get thirsty during practice.  Water is provided as well a plastic cups but you may want to provide your own container.  It is requested that alcoholic beverages be left at home.  MVK, which sponsors this event, the venue (Wise Hall) and/or the host(ess) assume no responsibility for any injuries incurred while attending the practice.  It is entirely at the attendee’s risk.

WorkshopAll The Demos!
Private location in Seattle, 7:00–10:00 pm / $35 (buy in advance)
Presented by Max.  This is a highly interactive event, mostly comprised of demos on attendee volunteers.  It provides a safe and informal space to observe, experience, learn, and discuss a number of kink activities.  After a brief introduction covering scene dynamics, negotiation and safety, volunteers have opportunities to bottom to Max for demos which may include:
• Rope bondage
• Electrical toys — violet wands, TENS/ErosTek, stun guns and zappers
• Needles / temporary piercing
• Pressure points
• Floggers
• Singletail whips
• Canes
• D/S and service dynamics
• Leather & metal bondage (including hoods)
• Cages
• Erotic hypnosis
Each demo will include some time for a debrief and Q&A.  This is a great workshop for anyone curious about kink, as it’s an unusual opportunity to see many different types of play up close and personal.  It’s also valuable for more experienced kinksters who would like to see a professional demonstration.  And it’s a great opportunity to meet Max and to do a demo scene with him, of course.  This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  You can bring a partner or a group of friends, but coming alone is completely comfortable and appropriate.  If you miss this workshop or want a deeper experience, Max also offers private instruction for bondage and many other BDSM techniques.  Class size is limited and preregistration is required.

Gallery Erato (309 1st Ave S, Seattle), 7:00–9:30 pm (doors close at 8:00 pm) / Price based on membership level ($5 off for CSPC, NW Bears, and SML members or students; cash only)
Rain City Jacks is where guys masturbate together in Seattle.  We are a private club for men, 18 years of age and older, who want to jack off openly and safely in a uniquely sex-positive, non-discriminating and mutually respectful community.  No penetration of any kind is allowed.  The fundamentals are “no lips below the hips” and “nothing goes inside anybody’s anything.”  Membership is required to attend any RCJ event and enrollment is available at the door for every regular club gathering.  (First-timers are allowed in early and must arrive between 6:45 and 7:45 to sign up and receive new member orientation before joining the event in progress.  Make sure you bring your photo ID and cash.  A 30-day trial membership is available for first-timers.)  Rain City Jacks provides the time, place and everything a man needs to fully enjoy masturbation with a group of genuine, like-minded men.  You should come.
It’s Theme Night!Rain City Jacks returns to monthly themes with Tighty-Whities, a more focused take on our usual underwear events.  All members are invited to bring and wear basic white cotton briefs in the playspace.   Nothing fancy this time… we’re all about the erotic energy of these basic male underpants tonight.  Do you have a set that’s a little old, a little worn, a little stained?  Bring ’em.  Just make sure they start out clean.  It won’t take long before the fabric gets moist with pre-cum, smeared with lube and soaked with cum.  All members still wearing their tighty-whities in the middle of the event — the most active time in the playspace — will be automatically entered in a random drawing for one of three free event passes.  Event passes are good for admission to one event and expire one year after being awarded.  Event passes may only be used by an active, dues-paid member of Rain City Jacks, but are transferable and redeemable by anyone, including a first-time member.  Event passes are rewarded on the spot to winners of the random drawing.  See you Tuesday and don’t forget your tighty-whities!

QueerPDX Queer Munch
Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta, Portland), 6:00–8:00 pm
This munch is for anyone who identifies as queer and their partners.  By queer, we mean gay men, lesbians, fags, dykes, bisexuals, pansexuals, and polysexuals along with transfolk, those who are genderqueer, gender flexible, gender fluid, and gender fuckers.  If the word queer feels like home for part of you or all of you, you are welcome.  And when we say “partner” , we mean everything from play partners to life partners.  The Portland Queer Munch will happen every month on the first or second Thursday (depending on scheduling options).
The space is wheelchair accessible and the menu has lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (and all clearly labeled!).  There is plenty of free street parking and the 72 bus will drop you off within a block of The Radio Room.  The munch will meet on the main floor instead of in the lounge areas so that we won’t be limited to 21+.  This does mean that we can’t be too demonstrative about our kink so as not to scare off their other patrons, but the venue is completely aware of what our group is about and is happy to have us there!  Please buy something to support the venue so that they’ll keep having us back.  They do know that not everyone will be ordering food/eating full meals, but please do get a drink or a snack.  Bottomless coffee is $2, and an order of fries is $3, to give you an idea of the prices.

Kremwerk (1809 Minor Ave., Seattle), 7:00–10:00 pm
Safeword is a fun, foxy, shame-free environment with a verbal contract with the audience incorporated into the show and a commitment to sexy consent and a uproarious good time!  From the deranged minds of Seattle’s Queen of Kinky Comedy Claire Webber and practicing sodomite Bobby Higley comes a game-show style kink show.  This is a sexy show, but it is in no way a sex show.  There will be no nudity, and no one will be made to feel uncomfortable or ashamed.  If anything like that occurs at the show, anyone to report the bad behavior will be deeply rewarded in praise and love of their fellow people.  There will be no photos until after the show.  Photos will be taken by the incredible Shan Collier.  Because (_-Consent is Lit AF BB-_) we have a one-strike rule: break the rules, you will be escorted out.  The lovely staff don’rsquo;t take kindly to assholes, creeps, homophobes, transphobes, MAGA hats, and dumbass rule-breaking hooligans!  There will be some built-in audience participation, and we want it enthusiastic, playful, and shame free!  That includes the comics!

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not munches, non-leather dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
