The Sunday Social Bowlers is a GLBT bowling group that has been meeting nearly every week for over fifty years.  We offer a casual, just-for-fun environment and are comprised of bowlers at all skill levels from beginner through expert.  Many of us are Bear-identified.  The West Seattle Bowl offers a family-friendly environment that is equally GLBT-friendly — they host multiple GLBT bowling leagues each week in addition to the Sunday Social Bowlers.  Plan to arrive around 10:10 so you’ll have time to pay, say hello, and get your shoes on.  Warm-up bowling starts at 10:20. The first game starts at 10:30; we play three consecutive games.  If you’re running late, come anyway — you’ll be able to hang out with us through the remainder of the first game and then join us for the second and third games.  We’re usually done by 12:30.  If you know the night before that you’ll be coming, please send an e-mail to a079436@yahoo.com so we can give the bowling alley a rough idea of how many lanes to reserve for us.

BearsSeattle Walking Bears
Green Lake Small Craft Center (5900 West Green Lake Way N, Seattle), 11:00 am–12:00 noon
We gather by the benches between the paved walking path and the restrooms just north of the Small Craft Center.  The most prominent nearby landmark is the grandstand remaining from the former Green Lake Aqua Theater, at the southwest corner of Green Lake.  There is a parking lot on the west side of West Green Lake Way N, opposite the Small Craft Center.  Metro bus routes 44, 62, and E stop within a mile of the Center.  Arrival is around 11:00. We start walking at 11:10.  From there, we head north to walk around Green Lake in the clockwise direction.  The route is 2.7 miles, entirely paved and flat.  If you’re running late, come anyway — depending on when and where you park or take a bus to, you should be able to intercept us somewhere along the path.  We return to our starting point around noon.
WorkshopBasic Rope Bondage Harnesses
Club Sapphire (14220 Interurban Pl. S #110, Tukwila), 1:00–4:00 pm / $50 per duo (buy online)
Tying harnesses is a fundamental rope bondage skill.  Chest and hip harnesses are versatile components that could be used in a variety of play styles from simple bedroom bondage all the way to rope suspension.  They provide sturdy handles by which a person could be held and moved, and an attachment point on a person’s body to tie them to something.  In this class, we will cover the basic techniques required to tie harnesses.  After that we move to learning a chest harness and a hip harness.  There are no prerequisites for this class.  What to bring:
- 2–3 pieces of 25’–30’ 5–6mm rope.  Natural fibre rope is preferred.
- 1–2 pieces of 10’–15’ 5–6mm rope (optional).  Natural fibre rope is preferred.
- A yoga mat or something else soft to tie on. The floor is hard and might be uncomfortable for tying.
- A small blanket for warmth.
If you don’t have rope, some loaner rope will be available.  No late entry will be allowed due to the intimate nature of this workshop.  Doors will be locked at 10 minutes after the start time.  Open to all 18+.  Attendance is limited to 8 tying duos.  All sexes, genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, relationship orientations welcome and celebrated.

Seattle girls of Leather is a unique and powerful group of individuals!  Our solidarity and commonality is found in our understanding that the definition of Leathergirl involves who you are and not just how you play.  Meeting is open to members, prospective members, and invited guests.  Get here early to find parking and grab a cup of coffee at the Kaladi Brothers.

MenOlympians Gathering
Private location (Kirkland), 7:00–11:30 pm / $5 for guests ($20 annual membership)
The Olympians are a social club for gay (and straight but not narrow) men who enjoy the freedom which comes with nudity.  The group gets together in whole or in part on a monthly basis.  We call these “events”.  They are not necessarily “parties” but potluck functions, which consist of a meal and dessert, followed with social interaction and “other” forms of contact, including physical.  These events are usually hosted in the homes of Olympians’ members, but a few times a year held in a rented space, with complete respect to be given to the owner’s property at all times.  We always want the events to be a pleasant experience, as sharing the company of several other nude men can be.

Private location in Seattle, 8:00 pm–1:00 am (doors close @ 9:30 pm) / by donation
Bi-monthly men’s fisting party with 25–30 guys and 8 play spaces.  Invite only; to get on the invite list, send an email to redhanky@soundskinky.com.
Look at the date, it must be a Halloween fisting party!  Why wait in line to get into an overcrowded bar, when what you want to do is get greasy and get it on?  We will have some funky lighting, maybe some spooky music, but hopefully no dark caves loaded with cobwebs!  If you’ve got an outfit you can play in (which probably means (a) simple and (b) will survive Crisco smears), wear it, and if not, we will have domino masks for everyone.

The Slaughterhouse (private location in Tacoma), 8:00 pm–1:00 am / $10 ($15 per couple)
Come join the SSLA & Slaughterhouse for it’s 2nd annual Halloween party.  It’s that time of year when the temperature chills and we are ready for the darker side of the kinky Pacific Northwest!  Traditionally this party is where twisted, messed up, and even taboo play is highly encouraged, so if you have something you would like to be sure you can do let Odie know.  If you are an SSLA Member or a Friend of Slaughterhouse, in good standing, you are more than welcome to bring a partner.  If you would like to invite someone new that has never been to Slaughterhouse, please reach out to Odie first.  (There are plenty of local parties going on this particular weekend that would be better suited for newcomers that also encourage costuming and other Halloween stuff.  We are happy to give you the information too!)  We rarely host closed membership only parties, when we do it is to allow our membership and friends a chance to let loose and play.  Leather is about community but it is also about the play.  One of the great things about the SlaughterHouse is its our home space and a place where we can let our guard down a little.  Space is limited So please RSVP on Fetlife or Facebook.
All monies go to cover party expense and the SSLA sponsorship of West Coast Leaders in Kink (WCL)  If you wish to make a straight donation to WCL in addition to your door donation, please let us know.

QueerPDX Queer Munch
Radio Room (1101 NE Alberta, Portland), 6:30–8:30 pm
This munch is for anyone who identifies as queer and their partners.  By queer, we mean gay men, lesbians, fags, dykes, bisexuals, pansexuals, and polysexuals along with transfolk, those who are genderqueer, gender flexible, gender fluid, and gender fuckers.  If the word queer feels like home for part of you or all of you, you are welcome.  And when we say “partner” we mean everything from play partners to life partners.  The Portland Queer Munch will happen every month on the first or second Thursday (depending on scheduling options).
The space is wheelchair accessible and the menu has lots of vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options (and all clearly labeled!).  There is plenty of free street parking and the 72 bus will drop you off within a block of The Radio Room.  The munch will meet on the main floor instead of in the lounge areas so that we won’t be limited to 21+.  This does mean that we can’t be too demonstrative about our kink so as not to scare off their other patrons, but the venue is completely aware of what our group is about and is happy to have us there!  Please buy something to support the venue so that they’ll keep having us back.  They do know that not everyone will be ordering food/eating full meals, but please do get a drink or a snack.  Bottomless coffee is $2, and an order of fries is $3, to give you an idea of the prices.

WorkshopMax’s Bondage Lessons
Max’s Dungeon (Seattle), 2:30–5:30 pm / $40 (buy in advance)
This month: Partial Suspension Bondage.  Suspension is perhaps the ultimate bondage — exhilarating, dramatic, demanding, and dangerous.  This workshop covers “almost” suspension, where the person being tied stays on the floor but with a vertical line taking some of their weight.  You’ll learn basic vertical-line techniques and will acquire some of the fundamental skills required for suspension bondage.  If you’re already doing suspensions, this workshop will make you more thoughtful about your style and more confident with your technique.  The workshop covers concepts, equipment, knots useful for suspension, and a number of exciting positions — all with a constant regard for safety.  Much of the class will consist of hands-on exercises to help you get familiar with the material in a friendly, low-pressure environment.  The emphasis is on learning, having fun, and building confidence.  Some of the practice is based on lifting your toy bag — go ahead and load it up to make it heavy.  If you can, come with a practice partner.  If you don’t have a partner, come anyway and we’ll make sure you get a chance to practice the basic techniques.  Rope Bottoms — this is your chance to meet some rope tops — come learn and get tied up!  This workshop assumes no previous bondage experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  Please also consider this workshop if you’re already doing suspensions — reviewing the fundamentals can be valuable whatever your skill level.

WorkshopAll The Demos!
Private location in Seattle, 7:00–10:00 pm / $30 (buy in advance)
Presented by Max.  This is a highly interactive event, mostly comprised of demos on attendee volunteers.  It provides a safe and informal space to observe, experience, learn, and discuss a number of kink activities.  After a brief introduction covering scene dynamics, negotiation and safety, volunteers have opportunities to bottom to Max for demos which may include:
• Rope bondage
• Electrical toys — violet wands, TENS/ErosTek, stun guns and zappers
• Needles / temporary piercing
• Pressure points
• Floggers
• Singletail whips
• Canes
• D/S and service dynamics
• Leather & metal bondage (including hoods)
• Cages
• Erotic hypnosis

Each demo will include some time for a debrief and Q&A.  This is a great workshop for anyone curious about kink, as it’s an unusual opportunity to see many different types of play up close and personal.  It’s also valuable for more experienced kinksters who would like to see a professional demonstration.  And it’s a great opportunity to meet Max and to do a demo scene with him, of course.  This workshop assumes no previous experience, and is appropriate for all genders and orientations.  You can bring a partner or a group of friends, but coming alone is completely comfortable and appropriate.  If you miss this workshop or want a deeper experience, Max also offers private instruction for bondage and many other BDSM techniques.  Class size is limited and preregistration is required.

• Why we do what we do, what is in it for us?  This may involve some technique, but the focus will be on why it is done instead of how.
• Dominance and submission/Mastery and slavery/service topics – These topics will include subjects such as the way relationships are structured, the calling to a BDSM role, the formalities of service etc.
• How-to at the 201 level and above – These will include different forms of edge play, advanced techniques, or creative forms of BDSM.
Leather Reign invites both (a) new speakers with new perspectives and (b) favored speakers from past conferences, offering new ideas, experienced perspectives, and interesting discussions.  We provide an environment that facilitates personal growth for everyone as well as developing the community as a whole.  Come join us!

FistingMenagerie Fisting Party — “Mask 4 Mask”
PansexualSlaughterhouse Halloween Party — The Dark, The Twisted, The Taboo

Leather Flag line
This information is aimed especially at the Seattle gay male leather community.  Some events are included which might be seen as non-gay, non-male, and/or non-leather; they are included due to the perceived breadth of people who may visit this web page and the crossover nature of events of those types with the gay male leather community.
About Out-of-Town Events: These events are listed below a green line for each date, and include both events throughout the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and British Columbia) and larger-scope national events (especially those which will be attended by some members of Seattle Men in Leather).  For out-of-Seattle events, we typically only list the most prominent ones (socials, board meetings, and the like).  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Bear, Rodeo, CW Dance, etc., Events: As above, we pick and choose which of these events to include.  All Seattle-area events are included, but only prominent regional and national events are listed.  (As a rule of thumb, we list board meetings and events at leather bars, but not movie nights, munches, dances, etc.)  Activity listings for those groups and those regions may provide a broader listings of events.
About Pansexual and Workshop Events: Also included in the calendar are a selection of events primarily aimed at the kinky straight or pansexual community, but appropriate for or welcoming of gay male (and GLBTQ) leatherfolk. Typically, these are workshops which are not specifically heterosexually themed, but a fewplay parties and weekend events are also included where appropriate. Keeping in mind the gay male leather intent behind this calendar, we list events which have an obvious attraction for and are clearly welcoming of the gay male leather crowd.  (Many “pansexual” events really have nothing to recommend them to gay male leatherfolk: we might not be turned away, but why would we attend?)  Decisions about what to list are informed by the text and imagery of websites and event announcements; if you feel that your event truly should be of interest to gay male leatherfolk and is not currently being listed, please contact us (and check the text and imagery you make available).
Leather Flag line
Send your event details to us. We will try to list all leather/fetish events expected to be of interest to the GLBTQ leather community, including both one-time events and recurring ones.  Include the event name, date, time, location, cost for the event, and contact info, plus a short description if available.  Deadline for sending items to be included in the weekly e-mail version of the calendar is Monday at 6:00 pm (Pacific time).  Items and corrections provided at other times will be inserted into the online calendar as they are received (and as we have time).
Disclaimer #1: SoundsKinky is not responsible for either the events listed here nor for the accuracy of the information included.  We apologize if we fail to include your event, but we’re only human.  Sometimes events, vacations, work, and life get in the way.  And you darn well better get it to us before the deadline if you want it in the listings!
Disclaimer #2: Seattle Men in Leather (SML) includes events from other organizations on this list as a service to the community.  Only events which are specifically hosted by Seattle Men in Leather qualify for the SML activity rewards program.
